The artistic direction of Uppercut Dance Theater consists of Stephanie Thomasen and Mark Philip. Together they represent the third generation of artistic directors in the company, with creations such as, PANIC DAY, SAMBA, BENCHED and most recently LIMBO they have led the company towards a new era.

The works of recent years have resulted in several prestigious awards, nominations, grants, as well as a host of positive reviews from enthusiastic critics. The performances 360° and PANIC DAY were nominated as Dance Performance of the Year in 2015 and 2019 respectively, while the performance SAMBA won the Reumert of the Year 2021 for Best Dance Performance. Stephanie Thomasen and Mark Philip have been honored with personal nominations for their contributions, and awarded honors from the Ballet Master Albert Gaubier Foundation, the Neel Resling Halpern Foundation, and the State Honorary Foundation. Most recently, Stephanie Thomasen was nominated for the 2021 Danish Theater cup award, for her work, LIMBO.
